It's nice to emotionally know that Stephen King's best work doesn't include the spook traits that he's famous for. The same can be said for Shawshank Redemption. I'm sure this also helped boost another man's already-great career: Rob Reiner. 'This is Spinal Tap' told everyone he was original, and 'Stand By Me' proved he was equal in adaptions.

All the actors are incredible especially River Phoenix - it always makes me cry when watching the ending thinking about what happened to him. I really wish he had lived on so he could have continued to make such fantastic films even though I haven't seen all his other films I still think he is the best actor even if he was before my time. The other performances in this should also be recognised as they were all fabulous and Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman and Jerry O'Connell have the perfect chemistry of such close friends. Keiffer Sufferland really does come across as the scary bully and is very intimidating from the view of Gordie.
